Rain receivers and equipment

Modern construction techniques make it possible to effectively combat the accumulation of water and remove it into the sewer. Modern drainage systems are endowed with ease of operation and convenience. Also, the thoughtful design makes it easy to fit such devices into a suburban, garden plot and make them a decoration of the area.

To protect thawed and stormwater, special rainwater collectors are used, which make it possible to secure the foundation, the blind area of the building, remove excess water from the garage or protect the basement from dampness.

The rain receiver is a kind of container, part of a point drainage system, mounted in various places. It is possible to install rain receivers to remove moisture from highways, pedestrian zones, and private property territories.

In addition to drainage, the rain receiver helps to avoid clogging of sewer systems with garbage, fallen leaves, branches and various suspended particles. Also, the rain receiver can be mounted in order to collect moisture on a roofing house, in the case of connecting downpipes.

What does the rain receiver look like

Modern manufacturers make this accessory from high-strength plastic or cast iron, which allows you to install a rain receiver in places with increased load. Plastic is mounted in places of private ownership, where heavy loads are not expected. Usually the configuration of such a device consists of:

  • plastic rain tray
  • partition siphon
  • baskets
  • add-ons
  • grids

The upper part, which serves as a decorative grille, can be made of various materials, depending on the installation location:

  • cast iron for increased load
  • plastic — for standard

The holes in the grate are made in a special shape that allows water to be discharged evenly and serve as a filter from debris entering sewage drains with stormwater and meltwater.

Classification of lattices

Depending on the installation location, it is worth using different grilles. You can divide this part of the rain receiver into categories:

  • Normal loads up to 1.5 tons/m2, category A. Plastic grilles are suitable for such purposes.
  • Average loads up to 12.5 tons/m2, category B. In this case, the use of reinforced plastic grating is recommended.
  • Increased loads over 12.5 tons/m2, category C. Cast-iron heavy-duty grilles are used for such purposes.

Advantages of installing a rain receiver

  • Easy installation and light weight. Plastic is easy to mount even for one person without assistance, and even a person without special knowledge and skills can cope with this task.
  • Elasticity. Plastic has moderate elasticity, so it is not afraid of soil movement in the process of soil erosion.
  • Chemical resistance. Plastics are resistant to various chemical compounds, including not sensitive to minerals contained in the soil, and also do not react with fuels and lubricants.
  • Resistance to temperature changes. The plastic used for the production of rain collectors can be operated in the range from -40 to 95 degrees.

Using such devices, it is possible to significantly extend the life of the drainage system, protect it from blockages, take care of the high-quality drainage of rain and melt water. Note that such devices are not only functional, but also do not lose their attractive appearance over time. The plastic used in the manufacture of the rain receiver is painted in production during the casting process, which ensures the preservation of color and uniformity of texture throughout the entire service life.
