Flush installation button for toilets

When choosing an installation for a toilet bowl, it is worth considering in advance all the characteristics that the design will be equipped with, because it is expensive and troublesome to redo an already installed installation. Not the last question is the choice of the water flush button, which will remain visible to the naked eye on the panel, above the plumbing appliance itself. An important role is played not only by the design, which should be suitable for the interior, but also by the mechanism, functionality and a number of other factors, including price. Today we will talk about what are the flush buttons of the installation for the toilet and which option is better to choose.

What are the flush buttons, and how do they differ

The quality of the button is affected by a number of factors, including the mechanism of action of this part. According to the mechanism , there are 4 types of buttons on the Ukrainian market:

  1. Simple mechanical
  2. Electronic buttons
  3. Pneumatic
  4. Sensory

Simple mechanical buttons are no different from the buttons in ordinary toilets. We press the button - the valve opens, and the water flows down. This is the simplest and most budget option, which does not have a long service life. On the other hand, breakdowns of such buttons are always elementary and they can be repaired with their own hands.

Electronic buttons largely repeat the mechanics, but work softer and smoother. They are more expensive and have a long service life. It happens that such a button is equipped with a backlight or additional functions: odor control, the ability to use refreshing cubes, filters. Some buttons even provide a motion sensor that turns on the backlight at the moment when a person enters the bathroom.

Pneumatic flushing involves installing a button not only near the toilet itself, but also at a distance of 2-2.5 m from it. The water is started by means of an effort exerted through an air tube, which is connected to the tank itself. This type of buttons is needed in cases when a toilet is being equipped for a disabled person or another sedentary person who is uncomfortable using the button of the usual configuration. There is also a pneumatic button in expensive, designer interiors.

Touch buttons do not require touching, and react to movements — for example, a wave of the hand. This significantly increases the hygiene of using the bathroom and is suitable for use in public areas.

The functionality of the buttons

According to the functions of the button , it can be divided into the following groups:

  • Single-mode - the button drains the entire volume of water from the tank at a time. The most budget and simple buttons.
  • Dual-mode buttons consist of two parts: one drains the water in economy mode, and the second makes a full drain. These are the most popular buttons, because they allow you to use water much more economically.
  • The three-mode ones include the "stop" function, which allows you to stop flushing water at any time. Such buttons consist of three keys.

You can also choose buttons from different materials. Plastic ones are the most inexpensive and popular on the market, but they cannot boast of strength and durability. A good alternative is steel, the material does not corrode, is not afraid of mechanical damage and can last for decades. And the steel button looks prettier than the plastic one.

You can also buy a flush button for installation made of glass, wood and bronze. These materials are used in design interiors, and they serve not only a practical, but also an aesthetic purpose. When choosing an expensive flush button made of wood, glass or other material, it is worth discussing with the designer how suitable it is in your particular case.
