Advantages of handrails for the disabled covered with ABS plastic

The arrangement of residential buildings, public places with appropriate components for the disabled is a feature of any civilized country. According to the legislation of Ukraine, all public places (hospitals, hospitals, polyclinics, sanatoriums) must be equipped with special handrails, supports and other attributes for sedentary groups of the population, and stainless steel handrails covered with ABS plastic are considered one of the best such components. We will talk about what grades of stainless steel are used for such handrails and what are the advantages of these products.

What are handrails made of for the disabled

High-quality handrails for the disabled are made of two grades of stainless steel - alloys 201 and 304. The first steel is cheaper, since the chromium and nickel content in this alloy is less. Products made of AISI 201 are suitable for use in conditions of normal indoor humidity. The alloy is characterized by high strength, resistant to mechanical stress, durable.

It is optimal to use AISI 201 handrails in places where it will not be exposed to aggressive environment and oxidation. For example, such handrails are installed in bathrooms, bathrooms, living rooms, hospital wards and other heated rooms where it is necessary to provide comfort for the movement of a disabled person. This alloy does not have high corrosion resistance, therefore it is sensitive to the effects of alkalis, acids and other aggressive substances.

Alloy 304, in turn, has the same characteristics as 201, but is also endowed with corrosion resistance - both chemical and electrochemical corrosion. In simple terms, such handrails can be installed in places where oxidation is possible — unheated damp rooms, on the street, on the entrance group as additional support elements for the disabled. Handrails made of AISI 304 alloy can be mounted even on the street near reservoirs, the sea — for example, in special medical complexes where sedentary people receive medical procedures.

Both alloys are widely used for the production of handrails and supports for the disabled, depending on the installation location. High-quality handrails are covered with special ABC plastic. This material independently attenuates in case of fire. Environmental cleanliness makes this plastic applicable in residential areas, and the ribbed structure avoids slipping and increases safety.

Advantages of stainless steel handrails for the disabled, covered with ABC plastic

It is worth noting the durability of any steel products. Following a simple rule - to choose alloy 201 for the house, 304 for the street and aggressive environment - you can equip the life of a disabled person with comfortable handrails that will last for many years.

The second advantage is the safety of such products. The ribbed non-slip surface of the plastic allows you to securely hold on to the handrail without slipping and keeping your balance. The structures are strong, withstand heavy loads, so the level of safety of such handrails is very high.

A simple installation will allow people without special knowledge and skills to cope with the installation of handrails. The handrail is mounted into the wall through special holes, which are then covered with plugs. Following the norms of installing handrails in apartments and other premises, you can easily cope with this task.

Eliminating the deformation of the handrail over time is also a huge plus. Strong steel structures retain their shape well, do not bend, do not crack and remain in their original form for many years.
